"I suggest you attempt to remain humble, because it has become clear to me that you don't understand how little I think of you and your species. Whenever you're walking down the road and you accidentally kill an ant, do you care? Now imagine killing bacter"

Death's Interests

Death is extremely cold, aloof, and enigmatic, seeing themselves as completely disengaged with the physical universe and its inhabitants. They've often stated that they view humans similarly to how humans would view a fictional character, something that doesn't matter in the grand scheme of things and doesn't deserve an extra thought. Death is only concerned with their function as a reaper of souls, even when involved in the wildest of situations the mind can imagine. They rarely interfere in the mortal plane, often leaves this task to their servants and the various Death and Underworld Gods. They can't be persuaded from their goal nor can they be bargained with, as Il Separatio has described them, they're a "true conceptual agent of the law".
Despite their quiet and distant attitude, they showed a sibling bond towards their twin counterpart/sister Life, and being with her while preserving and maintaining the balance and cycle of life and death. They have also shown to respect their elder brother God's authority and power, they holdsgreat respect to Him to the point that they only reaps the souls that are time to die. They are also on good terms with Father Time and from time to time visit him to talk about important events and happenings in the Creation. When in peace and in rare times while faring and escorting deceased people, they will act as a personal comforter and adviser towards their destination afterlife, but hold great contempt towards wicked and filthy souls, where they will show their very cold, sadistic, and sinister side while escorting them in Hell/Underworld for eternal punishment. Surprisingly, Death is very wary of the Darkness despite being one of the few beings capable to rival or stopping her stronger older sister Ayin. Ironically, on the contrary, the Darkness is unaware of their existence despite them being similar in age.
It also rare for Death to have interest in something or someone, and very few he has ever shown a level of interest in, and one of it is towards the mortals who successfully cheated death itself whether it is many times or not. Additionally, they care very little for major events of the world like the Apocalypse, and despite their coerced involvement by Lucifer, they only pay the events vague interest. Yet despite their seemingly indifferent, amoral, and passively enigmatic composure, Death holds great detestment, contempt, and frustration towards those who mock and belittles the concept of death; despite rarely showing themself, they take great pride and reverence in what they do, and claimed that they (who is among the living concepts and elements of the universal force itself) cannot be taken very lightly by anyone, specially mortals.
In one of rare instances, they were also shown to be a capable teacher and mentor towards their students and servants, showing great pride and joy when they successfully learn their teachings, one of them is the Archangel of Death Azrael, whom they called a good apprentice and protégé. Death shares a strong bond with him and is surprisingly protective of him as they saved him from Nyarlathotep.
According to the Grim Reaper, Death doesn't like to be tricked. When a person manages to escape Death, it goes after the person until it manages to take them, with the only way for the person to escape Death being if someone else is killed in their place. Nonetheless, although many consider Death to be evil, it is actually just doing its job of ensuring the balance between life and death, taking lives for new lives to be born.

Death is the Pre-existential entity of death and decay as well as the antithesis to Life and associate of Time. Their existence started at the same time as God and the only beings that might defy their authority are God, Azathoth, and Khaos.

Every single living creature has a soul, and every single soul can be removed from the creature's body. Unless done properly, this will often result in a permanent separation between the soul and its physical vessel. This process has been called many things throughout human existence, with it's English translation being Death. This isn't just a mere action or state of being as originally thought, the reason for things dying is the result of the existence of an entity formed long before the dawn of man, an entity aptly named Death.
While Death has claimed the souls of many, usually this process will be done by their Reapers or by various other psychopomps. The Reapers themselves have stated that even the action of someone dying is beneath Death, though it's also been stated that Death is the only reaper that no one can escape, for everything will eventually die. The psychopomps themselves are like employees to Death while the reapers are like servants. Other entities unrelated to Death can claim a soul, however they would need to have a valid claim on the soul such as a contract.
Death is a being embedded into the code of the natural order, so creatures that actively defy this order causes Death great frustration. As one can imagine, the Outer Gods and Great Old Ones especially infuriate them, for the only thing that drives these creatures forward is the cause of madness and chaos. Death is apart of the Cycle, a metaphysical wheel that drives all of existence, and the Old Ones seek to gnaw on this wheel like rabid dogs. Death themself seem to have some degree of contempt and annoyance by their existence, specially towards their creator: Azathoth. When they discuss Azathoth and his Old Ones (Great Old Ones and the Outer Gods) to Father Time, they seem to be quite displeased by their soon to be future return upon the universe, and knowing they will wreck havoc and chaos upon all of creation, their job and the balance that their maintaining and protecting will be greatly affected, showing a strong hate for them.
They are not just a manifestation of death, they aren't a god of death, they're barely a being. Death IS death, they're a living idea, the very concept of death and decay. Every dead being falls into their domain eventually, no matter if they go through a god, angel, or demon first. When something dies, it is a mere expression of Death, proof that they truly exist, they ARE death. God IS, Ayin ISN'T, and Death is whatever's inbetween those two.
